Large Early 20th Century Silver Plated Syphon Holder
Soda water was originally purchased from a shop or local supplier. In the large country houses or restaraunts and bars, they would produce their own soda water using a soda syphon.
This is a large silver plated syphon holder, these were used to stand a soda syphon bottle in to make it more decorative. These days they are popular as a bottle coaster.
It has two handles one on each side of the holder and a lipped base.
The condition of the silver plate on the outside of the holder is very good, there is some loss to the silver plate inside the stand at the very base, possibly where liquid has been left to stand under the syphon.
