Sycamore was used in kitchenware for its antiseptic qualities and has stood the test of time as it still continues to be used today.
 
This is a Victorian bread board with the word Bread carved to the top edge of the board, every Victorian kitchen would have at least one of these boards in use all the time.
 
Condition is good and  commensurate with daily use.
