An Illustrated Family Bible
In the 18th and 19 th century most homes would have a bible. The wealthier homes would have a large family bible.
This is a large family bible with a tooled and gilded leather cover, and a brass clasp. The bible contains both the old and the new testaments, and was printed by George E Eyre and William Spottiswoode , printers to Queen Victoria.
This has a lovely plate inside the front cover detailing that it was given to Fanny Crow on her marriage April 1869.
Condition is good, with minor scuffs to the leather and some foxing to the pages.
