Victorian Ironstone Tureen and Platter
Ironstone ware, or most commonly called just ironstone, is a type of vitreous pottery first made in the United Kingdom in the early 19th century. It was developed by potters in Staffordshire, England as a cheaper, hard-wearing alternative to porcelain.
This is a lovely ironstone tureen, with lid and stand, and a matching platter. Registration number dates it 1891.
Condition is very good with no cracks or chips.
